This is a record of of some of my more successful lessons.

I am also giving them a rating out of 10 for how successful/useable  they are. This is not only for myself to keep a record, but also an opprtunity for me to share some of my better materials with other teachers…if they want them!

Note on the ratings: a 10/10 does not mean a perfect lesson, but for now this is a bar for me to measure by. The ‘Talking about Food’ lesson so far is my best, and by that I will measure all others. Hence I aim to make new lessons as good as the food lesson. I have realistic aims!

  • Talking about Food (10/10)

  1. Find Someone who… food worksheet
  2. In the Restaurant Menu
  3. Talking about Food Lesson Plan
  • Movies (9/10)

  1. Movies ppt
  2. Movies Worksheet
  3. Movie Guide
  4. Movie Tickets
  5. Movies Lesson Plan
  • Shopping for Clothes (9/10)

  1. Shopping for clothes dialogues
  2. Shopping for Clothes Lesson Plan
  3. Shopping speaking bingo
  4. small-clothes2-words
  5. small-clothes-words1
  • Jobs and Interests (8/10)

  1. interests-and-jobs-ppt
  2. find-your-partner-cards-jobs-interests
  3. half-a-crossword-jobs
  4. dream-jobs-poem-template
  5. Jobs Lesson Plan
  • Personal Information (7/10)

  • Sports and keeping in shape (7/10)

  • What am I doing? (8/10)

  • Comparatives (8/10)

  1. comparatives-lesson plan
  2. comparatives-cards
  3. comparatives-ask your friends-worksheet
  • What should I do? (Giving Advice) (7/10)

I will add the materials bit by bit.  Feel free to use them.  Sharing is caring!

    Hi Jessica!

Thanks a lot, I think your lesson plans are excellent, and you have a very nice blog!!

I would LOVE to get some more ideas from you, please. I’m teaching at a High School, all different levels (some beginners, others good), and have to prepare 6classes a week.., so I need a lot of help!

I would also love to see your ‘PERSONAL information’ lesson plan?

    Thank you!!

      Hi Naomi,

      thanks for your response!

Good luck with your new teaching job. I’m sorry I’m only replying to you now. I’ve been home on holiday!

My personal information lesson was pretty easy: I made up a couple of templates with different blocks: My name is… I am….. I like…. I have…. I don’t like…. etc. So the students fill in information about themselves. Then you could also have a section with age, address, heigh etc. I gave them colour pens to be a bit creative and got some pretty nice results. Hope that helps!

Also: http://www.waygook.org is a useful website for lesson ideas. Good luck! Jessica
