Websites:
The internet can be a treasure trove of information for ESL teachers, but it can also be a horrible time trap….as I gain more and more experience with ESL teaching I am starting to weed out the websites to avoid, and have also begun to gather aroud me the websites on which I find the most useful information, activiteis, games, lesson ideas etc.
Herewith some of my top ESL Websites:
Books:
Similarly, the world of ESL textbooks can seem huge and frightening. If there’s one thing I could spend endless amounts of money on…it’s books. Clothes shopping, shoe shopping, gift shopping…they all get tiring, but I will never tire of book shopping. Anyway, here are some of the more useful books/textbooks I have come across in the early days of being an ESL teacher in Korea:
- Pair Work (Peter Watcyn-Jones, Pearson Longman Publishers, Book 1 & 2)
- Top Class Activities (Peter Watcyn-Jones, Pearson Longman Publishers)
- Let’s Talk (Cambrudge University Press, a 3-level coursebook series)
